GoBus SG is built to be the fastest way to check Singapore's public transport — live bus arrival times, MRT and LRT next-train times, multi-modal trip planning and train service alerts, all powered directly by official LTA DataMall feeds. This guide takes you from installing the app to a one-glance home-screen widget in under five minutes.

Free for iPhone and Android — Singapore's public transport in one fast, lightweight app.
The fastest way to use the app
Four short steps and the app is doing the heavy lifting for you. The third and fourth steps are the ones that change how you travel — they go together, so don't skip them.
Install GoBus SG
Tap the App Store or Google Play badge above. The app is free, lightweight and opens instantly — no sign-up required to see live arrivals.
Find a stop or station
Open the app and either browse nearby stops on the map, or search by stop code, station name or service number. Every stop card shows live bus arrival times pulled straight from LTA, with minute accuracy.
Star your favourite stops
Tap the star on the stops you use every day — the bus stop outside your block, the MRT station for the office, the one near your favourite hawker centre. This is the most important step: your favourites power everything that comes next, including the home-screen widget.
Add the home-screen widget
Long-press your home screen, choose GoBus SG from the widgets list, and point it at one of the favourite stops you just starred. From now on the next bus shows up right on your lock screen — no app to open, no search to type.
Favourite stops + home-screen widget is the single biggest quality-of-life upgrade in the app. The two go hand in hand: the widget needs a favourite stop to display.
Live arrivals with seat availability
Tap any stop on the map — or a favourite in your list — to open the full arrival board. Every service calling at the stop, the next three buses for each, with live seat availability badges so you know whether to wait for the next one. Refreshed straight from LTA.
Plan a multi-modal trip
Need to get from A to B? Open the Trip Planner and enter your start and end — GoBus SG combines bus, MRT and LRT into a single route with walking links, expected arrivals and total journey time. Tap any leg for the underlying live arrivals at each stop.
Tap an MRT station for full details
Stations aren't just dots on the map. Tap any MRT station — like City Hall — for interchange lines, exit list, service hours and peak-frequency information, plus live next-train times where available.
Stay ahead of disruptions
The app surfaces real-time train service alerts directly from LTA — if a line is delayed or partially down, you'll see it the moment LTA broadcasts it, alongside the bus bridging service if one is deployed. No need to refresh news feeds or hunt for announcements.
Tips that make a difference
- Star more than one stop. Add the office stop, the home stop, and the airport bus stop. Switching favourites in the app or the widget is a single tap.
- Use the widget on your lock screen. On iOS and Android both, the widget refreshes in the background — you don't even need to unlock the phone.
- Bookmark the Travel section. Our Travelling in Singapore guides are curated walks across the city, each with the exact stop codes pre-loaded for one-tap lookup in the app.
- Don't forget Tap-Out. The app shows live arrivals; SimplyGo handles payment. Always tap in and tap out at the MRT gate — forgetting the tap-out gets you billed the maximum fare for that line.
Want more?
Once you've got the daily commute on autopilot, the app is also a great companion for exploring the city. Switch Travel modes right on the map to browse points of interest, curated journeys and nearby Happy Toilets. Our Travelling in Singapore heritage and culture trips are written to be opened in GoBus SG — every stop code in the guide is searchable in the app for live arrivals.
