The sections below provide the detail. This policy applies to the iOS and Android versions of GoBus SG.

1. Information We Use and Why

The following is a complete summary of the information GoBus SG uses, how it is collected, and where it is sent.

Location
When: Only after you grant location permission, and only while the app is in the foreground.
What: Your device's current GPS coordinates.
Why: To display your position on the map, locate nearby bus stops and MRT/LRT stations, calculate walking distances, and plan a trip from your current location to a chosen destination.
Where it goes: Nowhere. Location is read on the device and is not transmitted or stored elsewhere. Location permission may be withdrawn at any time in your device Settings; the app continues to function without it.

Favourites, Recent Searches and Preferences
When: Automatically as you use the app.
What: The bus stops and routes you save, your recent searches, and your preferences (language, theme and similar settings).
Why: To personalise your in-app experience and provide quick access to the stops and routes you use most.
Where it goes: Nowhere. This information is stored locally on your device, is not synced, and is removed when the app is uninstalled.

Public Transport Queries
When: Whenever you look up a bus, MRT/LRT stop, route or location on the map.
What: The parameters of your query, such as a stop code, route number or map coordinates.
Why: To obtain real-time arrival information, transit status, map content and place information from the relevant providers.
Where it goes: Directly from your device to the public transport data services and mapping providers listed in Section 4. We do not retain a record of your queries.

Anonymous Analytics and Crash Reports
When: Automatically, through Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (services provided by Google).
What: Anonymous usage statistics, crash reports and performance metrics, associated with a random installation identifier and not with your name, email or phone number.
Why: To identify and fix issues, prioritise improvements, and monitor app stability.
Where it goes: Google (Firebase). See Google's Privacy Policy.

Advertising Information (Google AdMob)
When: When advertisements are displayed in the app.
What: On Android, your device's advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID). On iOS, GoBus SG does not access Apple's IDFA and does not use it for advertising. In both cases: device type and operating system version, language and mobile carrier, approximate location (typically at city or region level), and your interactions with the advertisements (which were shown, clicked or viewed).
Why: To serve advertisements in the app, measure performance, and prevent fraud and abuse. We do not receive your name, email or phone number from AdMob.
Where it goes: Google (AdMob) and its advertising partners. See Google's Privacy Policy and the AdMob data-collection page.

GoBus SG does not collect, store or share any information beyond what is described above.

2. Advertising Choices

GoBus SG is intended for use in Singapore; the following information applies wherever the app is used.

iOS: GoBus SG does not request App Tracking Transparency permission and does not access Apple's IDFA. No cross-app tracking takes place.
Android: Google's Advertising ID is used by AdMob to deliver advertisements and to prevent fraud and abuse. You may reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time in Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads).
EEA, UK and Switzerland: Before displaying any advertisements, the app presents a Google-certified consent message covering the storage or access of information on your device. You may change your selection at any time from More → Privacy choices inside the app. This message is not shown to users in Singapore or other regions outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland.

3. On-Device Processing

Map display, route lookups, favourites and search history are processed on your device. We do not operate an account system, your activity remains on your device, and we do not build a profile of your travel. Public transport information is requested directly from the relevant providers each time it is needed.
